Why your Contractor Website Design isn't working
Great work, weak website
Your projects look better than your website does.
No local visibility
No pages for the towns and services you actually cover.
Quote requests get lost
Forms go nowhere and calls aren't tracked.
Hard to update
No easy way to add new projects and reviews.
What we do about it
Contractor Website Design built around paying customers
Project galleries
Before-and-after photos and case studies that build trust.
Service & area pages
Pages for every service and town, built for local SEO.
Quote-first design
Click-to-call, short quote forms and call tracking.
Reviews & credentials
Licenses, insurance, warranties and reviews front and center.
Who we build for
General contractors, construction companies, roofers, HVAC, plumbers, electricians, remodelers and landscapers. See also home services marketing and plumbing PPC.
Why most contractor websites lose jobs
Homeowners don't read contractor websites. They scan them, usually on a phone, often while looking at a leaking roof or a flooded basement. In about ten seconds they decide three things: do you do this job, do you work in my area, and can I trust you in my house?
Most contractor sites we review fail at least one of those. The services are buried in a paragraph, the service area is one line in the footer, and the only proof is a stock photo of a smiling man in a hard hat. Meanwhile a competitor with a clearer site gets the call.
Pages a contractor website needs
| Page | What it does |
|---|---|
| One page per service | Roof replacement, roof repair, gutters: each ranks for its own searches |
| One page per town you cover | Ranks for "roofer in [town]" and shows you really work there |
| Project gallery | Before-and-after photos with the town and job type named |
| Reviews | Real Google reviews, quoted with names |
| About and credentials | License numbers, insurance, warranties, years trading, the owner's face |
| Quote request | A short form plus a big click-to-call button |
The town pages carry most of the SEO value, and they're where most contractors cut corners. A page that only swaps the town name gets ignored. A page that shows jobs you did in that town and the neighbourhoods you cover gets ranked.
Built for the phone, because that's where the calls come from
Most contractor leads come from mobile searches, and many are urgent. So we design the phone version first: the number is always one tap away, the quote form fits on one screen, and the page loads quickly on a weak signal.
We also add call tracking, so you can see which pages and searches made the phone ring. Most contractors we talk to don't know which of their marketing brings in jobs. After a month of tracking, they do.
Showing your work without slowing the site
Project photos are your best sales tool and your biggest speed problem. A gallery of full-size phone photos can make a page crawl. We resize and compress every image automatically, load them as people scroll, and label each one with the job and location, which also helps them appear in Google Images.
Adding a new project should take you two minutes from your phone. If updating your site needs a developer, it won't get updated.

Most contractor jobs start with a local search, so service-area pages and Google Business Profile matter as much as design.
